The
Out-of-Sync Child
by Carol Stock Kranowitz, M.A. "I am so glad to finally find
a book that explains my kid's sensory issues and how
to deal with them! Why does he have the need to shovel snow in shorts
and boots, sleep with piles of blankets and comforters, or even the
need to have us restrain him to calm himself after a tantrum.
We are more understanding now!" |

Raising
Your Spirited Child by Mary Sheedy Kurcinka. "This book helped
start us down the road to learning about our son's conditions. He
is high spirited and we believed it was pointing towards ADHD
after reading Kurcinka's explanation of the differences between a
spirited child (who is able to process information rapidly) and a
child with ADHD (who cannot). Even though he has now been diagnosed
with ADHD we are able to use alot of the information in the book to
help us deal with his issues." |

Why
Your Child Is Hyperactive
by Ben F. Feingold, M.D. "Our son is hyperactive so I
was interested in what Feingold had to say. I was a little skeptical
at first. He believes that artificial food flavors and colorings cause
hyperactivity. He has suggested a menu to tone it down and
has been successful world wide. Personally we have noticed after reading
this that when our son eats anything with red dye in it his hyperactivity
skyrockets. We now read labels and limit his intake of dyes and colorings." |
